DEATHS

Shuford Allen Nichols
Funeral services for Shuford Allen Nichols, 82, were held at Bratcher Chapel Wednesday January 29 at 2:30 p.m.  The Rev. Ray, pastor of Eastside Baptist Church, officiated and internment was in Oakwood Cemetery with Bratcher in charge.
Nichols died at Madonna Hospital Jan. 26 at 2:45 p.m. after two weeks of illness.  He had been in the hospital one week.  He was a retired Cotton Mill employee.
Nichols was born in Van Zandt County February 5, 1875 the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Nichols.  He was married in Quitman, Texas, June 26, 1901 to Dovie Ussery.  He lived in Grand Saline before coming to Denison 30 years ago.  He was a member of Eastside Baptist Church.
Survivors are his widow, Mrs. S.A. Nichols, 107 N. 8th Avenue; four sons, Jewel Stanley Nichols, Dallas; Allen LeRoy Nichols, Princeton; James Andrew Nichols, Denison; and Clifford A. Nichols, Deer Park, Texas; two daughters, Mrs. Winnie Shipley,  Dallas and Mrs. Georgia Lee McGee, Texarkana, Arkansas; four sisters, Mrs. Rose Sutton, Dallas; Mrs. Alma Stepp, Denison; Mrs. Laura Kelly, Belton, and Mrs. Lula Meadows, Baytown; 32 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.
