LAID TO REST
The funeral of Mr. Jules DesVoignes who died Saturday night, week, took place Sunday afternoon under the auspices of the G.A.R. and Society Vorwaerts.  At the grave in Oakwood Cemetery the exercises were of a very solemn and impressive character, being conducted alternately by each organization.  The attendance was very large.  The deceased was a French Swiss by birth, but had lived in America almost from his boyhood.  He had been a resident of Denison fro many years and was highly esteemed, especially among the German population.  He had accumulated considerable property which will probably go to his brother, he having been unmarried and having no other relatives that the Gazetteer knows of.  He was a great lover of music, and the vocal exercises of the Vorwaerts singing section at the grave were therefore doubly appropriate and significant.
