Denison Daily News Thursday, August 23, 1877 pg. 3 OBITUARY Died, at Denison, August22 at 12:50 p.m., John E. Mason, son of John E. and Mrs. Mason, aged twenty-nine years. Mr. John E. Mason, Jr. was born in the city of New York on the 2nd day of November 1848. He came to this city about two years ago, and his amiable deportment soon gained him a host of friends, and but few young men in this community were more respected. He had suffered for years with that dreadful disease, to which at last he has fallen a victim, pulmonary consumption, but he bore his sufferings with surprising fortitude. His early demise is deeply lamented by a large circle of friends. The funeral will take place at 4 o'clock this evening, from the residence of his parents on Morgan street, between Burnett and Fannin avenues. The friends and acquaintances are respectfully invited to attend.  OAKWOOD CEMETERY
