DEATHS
Funeral services for Milton W. Newton, 84, of 109 N. 8th, were held at Johnson-Moore Chapel Wednesday March 11 with the Rev. L. Gholson officiating.  Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery with Johnson-Moore in charge.
Newton died in a local hospital Sunday, March 8, at 3:45 a.m., after two years of illness.
He was born in Madison County, Ky., April 12, 1857, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. James H. Newton.  He was married July 16, 1893to Miss Lucy Smith in Arlington.  He was a retired farmer and had lived five miles south of Sherman 30 years.  He had lived in Denison 15 years.
Survivors are his widow, Mrs. Lucy Newton, Denison; four sons, Arthur and Howard of Lake Dallas, Homer of Sitka, Alaska, and Clarence of Chico, Calif.; three sisters, Mrs. Addie Berrie, McAlester, Okla.; Mrs. Lillie Teel, Maderia, Calif., and Mrs. E.R. Hagood of Denison; 44 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
