Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth Evans, the wife of Conducted E.W. Evans, died Monday night after a painful illness extending over eighteen months.  She was a patient and heroic sufferer, a wonderful example of physical fortitude.  About one year ago Mrs. Evans submitted to a surgical operation in Chicago, and obtained only temporary relief.
The deceased at the time of death was 35 years of age, and was a native of Clark County, Ohio.
She leaves two sons and two daughters; one son Fred Evans, a member of the Denison Rifles.
Mrs. Evans was buried Tuesday from the family residence on West Woodard street.  The interment was at Oakwood Cemetery.  The burial services were conducted by Turner Division, No. 28, Ladies' Auxiliary, O.R.C., of which the deceased was an active member.  She was also a member of the Women's Relief Corps, Knights and Ladies of Security at Emporia, Kansas, and the Ladies of Maccabees of Holland, Michigan.  The funeral was largely attended by sympathizing friends who were greatly attached to the deceased for her many honorable traits of character.
