The Denison Press Friday, July 30, 1943 pg. 8 Funeral services for Mrs. Mattie Morris who died Friday were conducted last Saturday afternoon by Rev. Boyd Jones at the Short-Murray chapel with interment at Oakwood. Born March 17, 1879, she was the daughter of parents who both died soon after her birth and she was adopted by Mrs. Bettie Wright, who came to Texas when she was 20 years old. She was married at Pilot Point to W.E. Morris, later moving to Denison. Surviving are three daughters and five step-daughters and one son, besides 24 grandchildren.  OAKWOOD CEMETERY
