John E. Dorman, 71, of Route 1, Denison, died Sunday at a local hospital after two weeks of illness. Funeral services were held at Bratcher Chapel Tuesday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. with the Rev. A.W. Waller officiating.  Interment was in Oakwood cemetery with Bratcher Funeral Home in charge.
Mr. Dorman was a native of Mexia, Texas, and was born October 4, 1884, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Dorman.  He was married July 25, 1906 to Julia Walker of Mabank, Texas.  He was a retired employee of the W.J. Smith Wood Preserving Co.  He was a member of the Assembly of God Church.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. John E. Dorman, Denison; four sons, Ed Dorman, Greenville; Ted Dorman, Irving; Robert Dorman, Dallas; and Jack Dorman, Wink, Texas; three daughters, Mrs. Fred Rucker, Denison; Mrs. Margaret Hunter, Dallas; Mrs. R.H. Wilson, Houston; a brother, Tom Dorman, Chester, Pennsylvania; and a half-brother, Dewey Eubanks, Chester, Pennsylvania; 23 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
