 Denison  Section 6  John Merrell 1863 - 1943 Ellen Merrell 1881 - 1945  John Shelton Merrell September 1900 - December 1959 The Denison Press December 31, 1959 "Deaths" SHELT MERRELL Funeral services for Shelt Merrell, 59, who died Dec. 24 at a local hospital, were conducted at Bratcher Funeral home Sunday by Rev. L. E. Smith, with internment at Oakwood, Bratcher directing. Merrell resided at 416 E. Gandy the greater part of his life and had been ill for three months, seven days of which were in a local hospital. He had been an employe of the Denison Cotton Mill for 50 years. He was a member of the Baptist church. Surviving are two sons, both of Denison, N.D. and J.D. Also surviving are two brothers, Robt. of Dallas and Newt of McKinney. Sisters are Mrs. Rosa Spradling and Mrs. Lou Smith of Denison and Mae Burlow of Atoka.  OAKWOOD CEMETERY
