A PIONEER GONE
Another well known and highly esteemed pioneer passed away the past week.  Mrs. Anna Brautigam after a very brief illness, died at her home, No. 600 West Sears street, Sunday morning.  The lady was taken ill Saturday night.  So slight was the indisposition that at her request no physician was called in.  During the brief absence of her son, Otto, his mother passed away.  He was greatly shocked and for a few moments it was hard to realize that she was dead.  The deceased was the sister of our deceased pioneer citizen August Uhlig.  She was a native of Germany and came to Denison in 1885 residing here continuously since.  She is survived by one son, Otto Brautigam, of the Denison post office, and one daughter, Mrs. Julius Martens, of Sherman, and one brother in Germany.
Mrs. Brautigam was a most excellent lady and in her daily life exemplified the highest and most noble attributes of her sex.  She will be missed most by her son Otto, who was deeply attached to his mother.  He was a very devoted son and did everything to please his mother and command her respect and affection.
Funeral services were conducted at the house Monday afternoon at 3 o'clock by Rev. F.L. Graves of the First Christian Church.  Interment was in Oakwood Cemetery.
