RESIDENT OF COTTON MILL DIES MONDAY
George W. Dixon, 51, retired textile worker at the Denison Cotton Mill and resident of that community 23 years, died Monday at 5:35 p.m. at his home following an illness of ten months.
Funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday from the Cotton Mill Baptist Church, Rev. John A. Crutchfield officiating.  Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery, Short-Murray directing.
Deceased was born August 2, 1887 as the son of Mr. and Mrs. M.P. Dixon of Claborne County, Mississippi and was reared and educated at that point.  He married Miss Cora Pierce January 19, 1908 at Copiah County, Mississippi and came to Denison 23 years ago where he accepted a position with the cotton mill here.  He retired because of ill health August 9, 1938.
Surviving are his father of Mississippi; his widow; 4 sons, Murrel of Denison; G.W. of Galveston; and Edward and Dale of Denison; three daughters, Mrs. Sallie Saxon, Ms. Ruby Kimble and Mrs. Nannie Twiner, all of Copiah County, Mississippi.
