RAILROAD RUMBLINGS
Ed Turner, a brakeman on the M.K.&T., Houston division was shot and instantly killed at Smithville early Tuesday morning.  Mr. Turner was standing on the sidewalk and near him were two negroes engaging in a quarrel.  One of the negroes drew his gun and began shooting.  A stray shot struck Mr. Turner and, as stated, death was instantaeous.  Ed made Denison his home for many years, running out of the city on the Choctaw division, and was well and favorably known.  His brother, Albert Turner, received a telegram announcing the death and Tuesday evening left for Smithville.
