DEATH OF N. GUINN
Frederick Napoleon Guinn, for many years a resident with his sisters, Mrs. A.C. Green of this city, died in Vicksburg, Mississippi, February 23, of acute indigestion, brought on my catarrh of the stomach.  The body was brought here by a brother-in-law, J.C. Vaughn, and laid to rest in Oakwood Cemetery, beside a newphew, G.W. Green, who died during the family's residence here, Wednesday morning.
Mr. Guinn was born in Greenville, Tennessee August 1, 1833, and was therefore nearing his seventieth birthday.  He was a locomotive engineer and pulled the engine that took the first through passenger train over the East Tennessee, Virginia and Georgia Railroad, back in the fifties.  He was master of transportation of supplies for Lee's army during the memorable Virginia campaign.
He followed his profession as engineer for more than forty years, but spent his declining years with his sister, Mrs. Green, the two and a niece, Miss Emily Vaughn, making their home together in this city, at Houston, Texas, and for the past two years at Vicksburg, MIssissippi.
The deceased, besides the immediate family, is survived by two sisters living at Springplace, Georgia, a brother at Middle, Tennessee; and a son at Houston, Texas.
As is the way of all, the life of many viscissitudes has closed, and the long and peaceful rest of the tomb enwraps him.
