MRS. ELLEN ALFORD
Mrs. Ellen Alford, 67, following an illness of nine months, died at 11:30 at Dallas, where she had made her home for the past eleven months.  Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 2:30 p.m. from the Short-Murray chapel with Rev. R.L. Lamb officiating.  Interment will be at Oakwood with Short-Murray directing.
Mrs. Alford was born at Minden, Louisiana, September 8, 1872, her parents being Mr. and Mrs. John Elliott.  She was married Oct. 20, 1896 at Texarkana where she was reared and educated.  She was a member of the Baptist church.
Survivng are four sons: C.E. Preston, Denison; M.S. Alford, Colbert; H.Y. Alford, Antlers; and M.H. Alford, Mustank, Oklahoma.  Daughters are Mrs. John McCann and Mrs. Horace Cook, Ft. Worth; Mrs. M.B. Morris, Dallas and Mrs. W.E. Crolley and Mrs. P.B. Bradley, Lawton, Oklahoma.
Brothers are Green, Jim, T.E. and Austin Elliot of Texarkana and Dr. B.F. Elliott, Blytheville, Arkansas.  Sisters are Mrs. Bobbie Williams, Texarkana, and Mrs. M.A. Riggins, Holdenville, Oklahoma.

RETIRED FARMER DIES AT HOME TUESDAY
William J. Alford, 68, a retired farmer and resident of Denison three months, coming here from Fort Worth, died this morning at 8:20 at his home, 1705 W. Bond street, following an illness of three weeks.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday from the Short-Murray Chapel with Rev. L.R. Lamb officiating.  Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery, Short-Murray directing.
Alford was born December 15, 1870 in Union County Arkansas, as son of Mr. and Mrs. John Alford and was reared and educated at that point.  He married Miss Ellen Elliott at Texarkana, October 20, 1896,
The couple came to Denison in 1922 residing until 1935, moving then to Fort Worth, returning to Denison three months ago.
He was a member of the Church of Christ.
Surviving are his widow; four sons, M.H. of Mustang, Oklahoma; M.S. of Colbert; Houston of Antlers and C.E. Preston of Denison; five daughters, Mrs. Ed Crolley of Langston, Oklahoma; Mrs. P.B. Bradley of Denison; Mrs. R.B. Morris of Dallas; Mrs. John McCain and Mrs. Horace Cook of Fort Worth.  A number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren also survive.
