Dr. Perrin requests The Gazetteer to return thanks to the members of the north M.E. church and the Y.M.C.A. for their kindness and attention to his deceased son, Walter Perrin.  Dr. Perrin was a constant attendant at the bedside of his son for months, not being able to provide a nurse.  There never was a more devoted father.  The indicents surrounding the death of Walter Perrin are particularly sad.  He was a very frail young man and struggled for years against sickness.  It was his indomitable spirit and will power that cheated death so long.  He was one of the best printers in the state and a young man of general information.  He had worked on a number of the leading journals of the United States.  His death is a severe blow to his old father who idolized his son.  Walter was very devoted to his father and was always willing to bear the burden of making a living when he was scarcely able to be out of bed.
The funeral was attended by quite a number of personal friends. The interment was at Oakwood cemetery beside his mother.
