RAVENNA MAN IS INJURED
J.H. Fowler Probably Fatally Injured at Bells
Beneath Freight Train and Fractured Right Arm
Badly Bruised

Denison, Texas, June 25 - Brakeman J.H. Fowler of this city was seriously if not fatally injured by a local Missouri, Kansas and Texas freight train at Bells about 10 o'clock this morning.  He has a fracture of the skull over the right temple, his right arm badly bruised and his body scratched from being dragged over the ties.
Fowler was thrown beneath the tender of the engine and the first car of the train and was dragged some distance before being discovered and the train stopped.
The injured man was brought to this city on the Katy Flyer No. 6 about noon and taken to the local hospital of the road, where his wounds were dressed.  At a late hour this afternoon he was resting easily and has a fighting chance to recover.
J.B. Fowler of Ravenna, father of the young man, was notified of the accident and came at once to the city and is now at the bedside of his son.

J.H. Fowler Dies
Was Injured by Falling from Train at Bells a Month ago

Word reached Denison this afternoon of the death of J.H. Fowler, which occurred this morning at the Katy Hospital in Sedalia.  Fowler, who was a brother-in-law to George L.  H. Shields was a Katy brakeman and sustained a factured skull by falling from a train at Bells, Texas about a month ago.  He was removed to the home where he was doing so nicely that his father, J.B. Fowler, who had been in Sedalia returned to this city believing him out of danger.  Yesterday he took a turn for the worst and before any of the family could go down here he had died.   Mrs. Fowler is prostrated with grief at her loss.
Mr. Fowler's father has gone to Sedalia and will return with the body.  He will reach here tomorrow when the funeral will be held.
