DAFFAN ORAM DEAD
"In the midst of life we are in death," was never more forcibly illustrated than in the case of Daffan Oram, who died Thursday.  It was only 4 days ago that "Daf" called at the Gazetteer office.   He was in the enjoyment of robust health and exhuberous spirits.  He was always pleasant and agreeable, and never was more so than during his last visit.
The day following he was taken sick, but his condition excited no alarm.   Monday night he became much worse, and the end came unexpectedly Thursday.  The death of Daffan Oram is a sad blow all around, especially to his father, Conductor Oram, who is almost heart-broken over the death of his boy.
When Daf Oram died, the world lost some of its sunshine.  The cares of this world sat lightly on his shoulders.  He always looked at the bright side of things.  He was cut off in the midst of youth, which is always the saddest feature of that great and mysterious change, death.
The deceased had been a member of the printing craft for several years.  The funeral, which took place Friday, was largely attended.  The interment was at the Oakwood Cemetery.
