Funeral services were held Saturday for William D. Horner, age 73, who died while in the office of a local physician Wednesday of last week.  Services were conducted at Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. W.H. Coonrod and the Rev. Bruce Hibbitt officiating, with Bratcher-Moore funeral directors in charge.  Interment was in Oakwood Cemetery.
Mr. Horner, who lived at 1900 S. Houston, was born in Madison county, Arkansas, April 28, 1876, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Horner.  He was married in 1896 to Miss Bessie Mae Leggett.  He was a retired farmer and had lived in Mount Pleasant before coming to Denison eleven years ago.
Survivors include five sons, Walter D. Horner of Denison; W.B. of Corpus Christi; Cecil M. of Marble Hill, Missouri; Rayborn of Waxahachie; and George Ray Horner, Red Wood California; four daughters, Mrs. Violet Thurston, Waco; Mrs. L.L. Brown, Denison; Mrs. Larence Moore, Borger, and Mrs. Bessie Whitfield, El Paso.

Funeral services were held at Bratcher-Moore chapel Monday afternoon for Mrs. Bessie Mae Horner, 72, of 114 E. Burrell, who died at her home Friday after a year of illness.  Rev. H.E. Allison and Rev. A.F. Ferguson officiated and burial was in Oakwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Horner was born in Van Zandt County, February 2, 1882, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.K.P. Leggett.  She attended Van Zandt County schools and was married October 4, 1891 to William D. Horner, who died in 1943.  She was a member of Epting Memorial Baptist Church.
Survivors are five sons, Walter (Jack) Horner and Rayburn Horner, Denison; W.B. Horner, San Antonio; Cecil Horner, Monett, Missouri; and George D. Horner, Minneapolis, Minnesota; four daughters, Mrs. Julia Brover and Mrs. Bessie Whitfield, Denison; Mrs. Violet Thurton, Waco; and Mrs. Susan Moore, Borger; a brother, M.H. Leggett, Denison; a sister, Mrs. Beatrice Moore, Dallas, and 25 grandchildren.
