TED POWERS
Funeral Services were held at Bratcher-Moore chapel Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock for Ted Powers, 31 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Neal Powers of 513 E. Washington, who was killed Saturday morning when his truck overturned and burned near Jennings, La.  Conducting the service was Rev. Wallace A. Chappell of Dallas, assisted by Rev. W.O. Bucy, pastor of Trinity Methodist church.  Burial was in Oakwood cemetery.

Mr. Powers had lived in Pottsboro for about a year.  He was employed by the Shovel Supply company of Dallas.  He was born in Denison and received his education in Denison schools.  He was married in Dallas, June 1948 to Mrs. Elsie M. Bard.  He was a veteran of World War II.

Survivors are his widow, two step daughters, Cheryl Bard, Pottsoboro and Miss Jane Bard, Dallas; a brother, Beverly Powers, Madill, Okla.; three sisters, Mrs. J.T. Barnhill and Mrs. Imogene Shires, Denison, and Mrs. Douglas Lee Provo, Utah, and his grandmother, Mrs. Theodore Potts, Denison.
