Shields 29 July 1890 - 20 April 1958 The Denison Press Friday, April 25, 1958 pg. 2 Funeral services for George B. Shields, 67, of 2500 S. Scullin, were held at Johnson-Moore Funeral chapel Monday afternoon with Rev. Elwood Cozine officiating. Interment was in Oakwood Cemetery. Mr. Shields died at his home Sunday, April 20 at 2:45 a.m. He was born in Tennessee July 29, 1890, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Shields. He was married April 20 in Bonham to Stella Padgett. They came to Denison in 1913. He was employed as a textile worker from 1913 to 1955. He was a member of Sunnyside Baptist Church. Survivors are his widow of Denison; 4 sons, Claud Shields of Denison; O'Dell Shields, Carl Ray and Wayne Shields, all of Houston; 2 brothers, John Shields and Lewis Shields, both of Denison; 6 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
