DENISON RECEIVES ITS FIRST OF BOYS FALLEN AT FRONT
The first of the boys from Denison who gave their last token of devotion to their country at the front in the recent world war, or rather the house in which his soul once tabernacled, was brought down Main street from the Katy depot Thursday afternoon, as the sidewalks were lined with people who stood in honor with bared heads while the colors for which he fought were draped over the body as buddies marched alongside, in front and behind the remains.  A number of members of the auxiliary were in line also.
The body moved slowly along Main street as conversation was hushed and Main street business houses closed their doors to signify ther hearts were in deep sympathy while they did their last little bit to honor the brave one.  All recognized the scene as being typical of what was going on all over the world.
The determined faces of the buddies in line, along with the members of the local Signal Corps, and the high school band and others, could be easily noted while occasionally could be heard a returned buddy remarking, "that could have been me."
The body of Sgt. Neal K. Moore was thus brought back to his old home for resting until the day set for resurrection of all at the sounding of the trumpet, as all that his home town could do in the way of honoring his contribution was gladly paid.  He died in action at the Battle of the Bulge in 1944 in Belgium.
Services were in charge of Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion.  Service were in charge of Bratcher-Moore and interment was at Oakwood after a fitting ceremony at the funeral home.  The grave rites were in charge of veterans.
Ministers officiating were A.F. Waller, of the Armstrong Church of Christ; Basil Shilling of the Central Church of Christ, and L.L. Hanson, minister of the First Baptist church, Galena  Park.
