Funeral services for Earnest N. Wright, 90, retired Katy Railroad engineer, were held at Bratcher Chapel Friday afternoon with the Rev. Duke R. Barron, pastor of Waples Methodist Church, officiating. Interment was in Oakwood Cemetery with Bratcher Funeral Home in charge.
Mr. Wright died suddenly at his home, 911 S. Armstrong, Wednesday morning, March 6. He had been in ill health for several years.
Wright was born February 22, 1867 in Pulaski, Tennessee and was married December 23, 1900 to Anna McHanson in Denison. He moved to Texas in 1880, residing at Plano until he moved to Denison in 1898, at which time he began to work for the Katy.
He retired as south end engineer in 1939. He was a member of the B. of L.F. and E and B. of L.E.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Ty Nelson of Minneapolis, Minnesota; two sisters, Mrs. Ida Belle Dean of Amarillo and Mrs. Virgil Eubanks of Kenton, Ohio; and one grandchild.
