MRS. MARGUERITE JOHNSON
At 7 p.m. Saturday death visited the home of Howard Johnson, No. 915 West Crawford street, and bore away in his, pale, chill embrace the young wife and mother.  "Her sun has gone down while it is yet day."
The funeral was held Sunday at 3 p.m. from the residence.  Rev. J.A. Shoptaugh, assisted by members of the Christian church choir, conducted the services.  From the scripture text quoted above, Rev. Stoptaugh made a beautiful and feeling address, and the choir sang "Nearer My God to Thee" and "Jesus Lover of My Sou."  Interment was at Oakwood beside her father who died several years ago.
At the early age of 21 the young wife was called to leave a stricken husband after a brief wedded life of two and one-half years, and the young mother to leave a baby boy, a year old last December.
Besides these, she leaves a sister, Mrs. Arthur Turley, who resides 6 miles east of the city; two brothers, R.D. and Clyde Byers, who reside here with their grandparents, and the grandparents themselves., Mr. and Mrs. Robert Salmon.  Besides these nearest ones, many relatives of both Mr. and Mrs. Johnson reside in and near the city.
Mrs. Johnson was Miss Marguerite Byers and having been born and mostly reared here, she leaves hosts of friends the depth of whose grief was shown beside the coffin.
Mrs. Johnson united with the Christian Church during the revival service held last fall, and though the Christian life too was brief, her pastor bore witness to her sincerity, devotion and consecration.
A large concourse followed the remains to their resting place in Oakwood, where freed from earthly cares, she rests.
