Funeral services were conducted Saturday afternoon at Funderburk Funeral Home for Arlan M. Looper, 72, of 513 Coffin street, who died in a local hospital Friday morning.  He had been in ill health for a year.  Rev. Bruce Hibbitt conducted the services and interment was in Oakwood Cemetery.
Mr. Looper was formerly employed by the Katy railroad shops here, later working at the Denison cotton mill until his retirement in 1945.  He was a member of the Harless Chapel Methodist church.
Survivors include his widow; a son, W.D. Looper of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; 2 brothers, M.D. Looper and W.L. Looper of Vernon, Texas; a half brother, Jerry Looper of Aubrey. Texas; and a sister, Mrs. Verdie May of Ripley, Michigan.
