Fatal Explosion
About 4 o'clock Thursday evening 2 men were instantly killed and the third seriously wounded by the over due discharge of a blast in the rock cut at the east end of Ray's siding, 3 miles west of Denison.  The men killed are George Hampton, residing on west Chustnut street near the street car stables, and Jack Klaney, of the general yard force.  The injured man is Mr. E.F. Bush, the stone mason and contractor residing in the large stone building west of Miller Springs.  A number of blasts had been fired and it was thought by Mr. Klaney that all had been discharged.  He jumped back down in the cut and called out, "all right."  The workmen, some 8 or 10 in number, started bac, and 2, Hampton and Bush, had jumped in when the explosion occurred.  The men instantly killed were blown high into the air and one of the was battered beyond recognition.  Mr. Bush was struck on the forehead by a stone and although the skull bone is fractured he is rapidly recovering and will be able to be up and about soon.
The bodies of the dead men were brought in to Undertaker Lindsey's and Friday evening were interred in Oakwood cemetery.
Dr. Acheson is attending Mr. Bush and this, Saturday morning, states that his patient is getting along splendidly.  Car loads of explosives are being used in the construction ofo the new yards and this is the first accident worthy of mention.
