Funeral services for Macie Bieler, 57, were held at Bratcher-Moore chapel Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. with Dr. B.N. Ramsay, pastor of First Baptist church, officiating.  Interment was in Oakwood cemetery.
Mr. Bieler died in Uvalde, Texas, Saturday, May 5 after two years of illness.  He had been hospitalized for two days.
Mr. Bieler had lived in Denison at 118 W. Sears before moving to Uvalde.  He was born in Egypt, New York, January 23, 1899, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Bieler.  He attended New York schools and was married November 17, 1931 to Rose Spruel in Baltimore, Maryland.  He was a merchant seaman and had lived in New York before coming to Texas.  He was a veteran of World War I, a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion, the National Maritime Union and the Baptist church.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Sgt. 1/c Earl Bieler, Ft. Sam Houston; two daughters, Mrs. Eileen Harrington, Denison and Mrs. Elberta Kinsey, Waco; a brother, Earl Bieler, Fairport, New York; and 7 grandchildren.
