Mrs. G. Pierce Dies at Early Hour Friday
Mrs. Georgia Pierce, 61, resident of the city for the past thirty-seven years, died at her residence, 1711 Parnell St., Friday morning at 2 o'clock. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday morning at 10 o'clock from the Nazarene church with Rev. W. F. Akin officiating. Interment will be at Oakwood with Short-Murray directing.
Mrs. Pierce came to Texas from Tennessee, locating in Sherman when a child. She received her education in Sherman and at Sunset, coming to Denison from Jacksboro, Tex., 35 years ago.
Her parents were Mr. and Mrs. M. L. Smith. She was married Aug. 20, 1899 to George Pierce, who survives her, and four brothers and two sisters. The brothers are C. A. and L. A. Smith of Fort Worth, A. P. of San Antonio and W. E. of Wichita Falls.
Sisters are Mrs. J. K. Worthington and Mrs. E. A. Widerman, Arlington.
