Jack D. Harwell

Funeral services for Jack D. Harwell, 83, of Whitesboro, were Monday, June 10, 2013, at Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Whitesboro with the Rev. Jim Cragg and Rev. Rick Carney officiating.

Burial followed the service at Mt. Tabor Cemetery in Sandusky.

Mr. Harwell died Friday, June 7, 2013, in Denison.

He was born on June 28, 1929, in Grayson County.

Survivors include wife, Valda Harwell of Whitesboro; children, Nova Bates, Jack A. Harwell and Margenia Holloway of Whitesboro and Dee Gentry of Anna; 13 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to "Your Neighbor's House," 201 S. Union St., Whitesboro, Texas. -

Robert L. Harwell
9 November 1927 - 14 June 2003


Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 17, 2003 at Huff Funeral Chapel in Whitesboro for Robert L. Harwell, 75-year-old Whitesboro resident. Rev. Joe Patterson, assisted by Terry Barnett conducted the service. Interment was in
Mt. Tabor Cemetery, Grayson County, under the direction of Huff Funeral Home.

He died Saturday, June 14, 2003 in Wilson N. Jones Medical Center in Sherman.
Born November 9, 1927 at Gordonville, he was the son of the late Robert L. Harwell, Sr., and Vera Braswell Harwell. He married Dorothy Moore May 1, 1993 in Whitesboro.
He owned and operated his own Trucking Company, and was a truck driver for 57 years. He was an Army veteran and a member of Central Baptist Church in Whitesboro.
Survivors are his wife, Dorothy Harwell of Whitesboro; step-son, Scott Moore; step-daughters and son-in-law, Becky and Mike Allred of Whitesboro, Shelley Clements and Starla Johnson, both of Whitesboro, Christine Simpson of Lewisville, Texas and Robbie Jo Stout of Weatherford, Texas; two brothers, Jack Harwell of Whitesboro, and John Harwell of Gainesville; one sister, Viola Walters of Sherman; thirteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Extended family: Terry and Annett Barnett and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Doyce Allred, Gary Grantham, Terry O?Toole, David Stone, Brandon Parker, Stan Quick. Honorary pallbearers were Ray Bilbrey, Gaylon Parker, Jim Mahana, Kelsey Wylie, and Bobby Reed.
