M.A. McBride was the postmaster of Cedarfield, which was in the west central part of Grayson County, He was recorded as such on June 26, 1868.

I suspect he built the monument before they left for Victoria Co. I have not found them yet in a 1870 record.  But I think this is the couple in Victoria County.
