Helen Louise Polk McShan-Williams
27 March 1924 - 11 December 2013

Helen Louise Williams 89 went to be with her Lord and Savior Wednesday, December 11, 2013 after a lengthy illness. Louise was born March 27, 1924 in Clarksville, Texas to Mr. Sam and Rosie Polk. She graduated from Cheatham High School in Clarksville. She married Mr. John McShan of Clarksville and they soon after moved to Denison. They were happily married until his death. She worked very hard and raised her family with love and spiritual guidance. She then married Mr. Jasper Williams of Denison. Louise was very active in the lives of her family, friends and her church. She was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church for over 50
years. She served as Sunday School Teacher, President of the Senior Choir, member and teacher of the Mission Society.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Sam and Rosie Polk; husbands John McShan, Jasper Williams, two daughters: Mary Estell, Cynthia McShan; siblings: Dennie Furgerson, Estell Rose, Sam Polk, Joe Polk, Pearlie McShan, Winifred Gaffney, Eluster Polk; and one grandchild, Vincent Moore.
Survivors include her children: Curlee McShan, Gladys Lucille Edwards, Johnny McShan, and Effie Bowden all of Denison. Keith/Pat McShan of Sherman; siblings: Bertha Gaffney of Denison and Rev. Ivora/Zadie Polk of Fort Worth and 16 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon in the Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Denison. Rev. A.E. Blakely Pastor officiated with Rev. Manuel Gardner Eulogist. Burial followed at Magnolia Cemetery.  Services were under the personal direction of James E Smith and Scoggins Funeral Home, 415 S. Collins Freeway, Howe, Texas.
