Jan Maurice Robinson, Jr. entered this world on August 10, 1947 in Colbert, Oklahoma. He was the first born of 10 children to Reverend Maurice and Bennie Doris Stone-Robinson. He accepted Christ at an early age, and received his education from the
Colbert public Schools.

After high school, Maurice enlisted into the United States Army, where he proudly served his country during the Vietnam War.
At the end of his enlistment, he decided to work as a civilian, and was employed by various employers during his life.
Maurice took pride in the knowledge he obtained, and willingly shared it with others to uplift and encourage them.
On January 22nd, 1990, he married the love of his life, the late Mary Alice Griffin.
Maurice had a passion for singing. As a child, he was one of the first blacks to sing on radio and television. Throughout his life, he would sing at various church occasions. As time passed, he accepted his calling to preach, and moved from the choir stand, to the pulpit, where his new passion was spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He was an associate minister at Hopewell Baptist Church
in Denison.

On Tuesday July 29, 2014, Rev J. Maurice Robinson, Jr., received his greater commission from the Lord, and departed this world, for eternal life.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and siblings; John L. Robinson, Cerecca Jeffries, Doris Jo Davis and Lorena Davis.
He is survived by daughters, LaKendra C. Freeman of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Janna M. Linley of Durant, Oklahoma; step-daughter, Tasgel Grifin of Denison, Texas; 7 grandchildren; brothers, Dennis Davis of Colbert, Oklahoma; Timothy L. Robinson (Karen), and Juan E. Davis (Angelina), all of Tulsa; sisters, Barbara Stevens of California, Lajuanna Robinson of Colbert, Oklahoma; Ecle E. Love (Nolan) of Tulsa, and Lenora M. Calloway of Turley, Oklahoma; and many other relatives and friends.
