Victoria Jeannette Powell

Born: November 6, 1967
Homegoing: July 8, 2019

Victoria Jeannette Powell was born in 1967, daughter of Rae E. Powell and Henry Powell, Jr., in Denison, Texas,  Victoria was a graduate of Denison High School.  After graduation Victoria attended  the Light House for the Blind in Dallas, Texas to learn mobility and independent living skills.  She worked for several years at Goodwill Industries in Denison, Texas.  She was currently a student at Grayson County College studying computer programming.
Victoria was loved by her family and friends despite her physical disabilities; she was kind, funny, blessed with a gift of a fighting spirit and great perserverance throughout her life.  Victoria never gave up on doing things she wanted.  She loved music, online computer games, and was the biggest Bobby Brown fan ever.  All those who loved her will miss her sweet spirit and smile.
Victoria is survived by her mother of Denison; sisters, Henrietta Hines of Sherman; Constance L. Brown, Barbara R. Powell, Dr. Hattie Powell, and Monique Russell, all of Denison; brother, Ronnie E. Powell and wife, Monsita, of Denison.
She is preceded in death by her father; grandmother, Lillie Mae Coleman; and brothers, Rogers Brown and Jessie Brown.
Graveside services were held Saturday morning, July 13, 2019 at Magnolia Cemetery in Denison, Texas.  Rev. Dr. Ouida Lee brought the eulogy and Pastor Commie Linson was the Liturgist for the program.  Arrangements were under the direction of Fisher Funeral Home in Denison, Texas. - - - Fisher Funeral Home


Barbara Rae Powell was born October 5, 1958 to Rae E. Powell and Henry Powell, Jr. in Denison, Texas.  Barbara was a graduate of Denison High School.  After graduation, for several years, Barbara had a babysitting service watching over many of her nieces and nephews.  At the time of her passing, November 4, 2019, Barbara was employed as a Dietary Aide for more than 24 years at Homestead of Denison, where she took great pride in serving the residents of the facility.
Barbara had a servant's heart and work ethic that made her family, friends, and residents feel special.  Barbara would run errands and pay bills for the family and she was an awesome cook.  There was no bigger nor more loyal Dallas Cowboy fan than Barbara.  She dressed in her Cowboy gear every game and has quite a collection of Cowboy memorabilia and clothing.  She loved music, especially Bruno Mars, and was an avid sports fan.  She enjoyed watching NFL games and college basketball.
Barbara is survived by her mother, Rae E. Powell of Denison, Texas; sisters Henrietta Hines of Sherman, Texas; Constance L. Brown of Denison, Texas; Dr. Hattie Powell of Denison, Texas; and Monique Russell and husband, Sylvester, of Denison, Texas; and brother, Ronnie E. Powell and wife, Monsita, of Denison, Texas; a host of nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
She is preceded in death by her grandmother, Lillie Mae Coleman; father, Henry Powell, Jr.; brothers, Rogers Brown and Jessie Brown; and sister, Victoria Powell.
Graveside services were held Saturday morning, November 9, 2019 at Magnolia Cemetery in Denison.  Rev. Commie Linson brought the eulogy. - - - Fisher Funeral Home
