Leamon Adolphus "Slim" Parker, Sr., 82, transitions from  this earthly life to eternal life on Sunday, January 12, 2019 at Texoma Medical Center in Denison, following an extended illness.
Leamon was born July 13, 1936 in Denison, Texas, son of Leamon and Octavia Parker.
He attended Terrell High School and received his formal education.  After graduation, Leamon enlisted with the military, serving in the Army and Air Force.
After receiving his honorable discharge, he returned to Denison and was employed with Covey Manfacture Co., retiring after 25 years.
Mr. Parker united with Iron Ore Baptist Church, serving as Elder Deacon until  his health began to fail.  He also was a Master Mason.
He leaves behind his loving and devoted wife of 64 years, Odelia; 4 children, 8 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Wednesday morning, January 16, 2019 in Iron Ore Baptist Church.  Rev. Craig T. Ewing was Host Pastor and Rev. Michael Braxton, Sr. officiated.  Burial followed at Magnolia Cemetery in Denison.
Arrangements were entrusted to James E. Smith and the professionals at Waldo Funeral Home in Sherman. - - - Waldo Funeral Home
