Marie Elaine was born in Denison on Dec. 15, 1951. Marie graduated from Denison High School in 1970 and remained a lifelong resident of Denison. She married Billy Joe Halterman on Oct. 9, 1992. Marie loved Billy Joe very much and in return, he stood by her side through the very best of times and bravely held her hand and provided his strength through the most difficult of times. Marie will be remembered for many wonderful and exciting things, but mostly she will be remembered as a loving and enduring wife, sister, mother and grandmother. Her warm heart and her sincerity has guided the lives of many and will continue to for generations to come.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents, Vincent Roland Silva and Dorothy Elaine Silva both of Denison.
She is survived by many loving friends and family including her devoted husband, Billy Joe Halterman; brother, Kenneth Silva of Fort Worth; brother-in-law, Herschel Ray Nix and his wife Carol of Denison; four children, Scott Gurley of Euless, Chris Gurley and his wife Valerie of Dallas, Magen Gurley of Denison, and Darren Halterman and his wife Lisa of Belen, N.M.; and five grandchildren, Ethan Roland, Oliver John-Paul, Emily Marie, Elaina Kaitlyn and Zachary Grant.
Marie was blessed to receive the gift of life for a second time in November 2004 by being the recipient of a liver transplant. This gracious gift allowed Marie to see two more grandchildren being born and allowed her ample opportunity to spoil
each and every one of them. The family would like to thank the sacrifices of organ donors and the families of organ donors for their priceless, precious and selfless gift of life.

Arrangements are entrusted to the care and direction of Bratcher Funeral Home, 401 W. Woodard Street, Denison, Texas 75020.
