SHERMAN - Funeral services for Annie Mullins Chesser will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 26 at Waldo Funeral Home. Rev. Melvin Bertrand of Fairview Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will follow at Luella Cemetery with grandsons Bart Mauldin, Chris Mullins, Ronnie Gann, Jeremy Price, Brad Mauldin and Danny Miller serving as pallbearers. Mrs. Chesser, 83, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2011 at the Texoma Healthcare Center.
Annie was born on Aug. 6, 1927 in Winchell to the late William and Viola (Clem) Lewis. She married Robert "Bob" Mullins on Dec. 18, 1945. They settled in Sadler for a short time and then moved to Sherman. Ann worked part-time at Bud's Drive-in and Dairy Queen. In retirement, she devoted her time to helping with her grandchildren. Ann and Bob were always active in their church, Loving Baptist Church. Bob passed away in October 1993. She later married Haskell "Hack" Chesser. They attended Victory Baptist Church. Mr. Chesser passed away in 1999.
Mrs. Chesser is survived by three daughters, Glenda Sue Jacobs and her husband Jim of Sherman, Patsy Mauldin and husband Chuck of Sherman, and Bobbie Price and husband Randy of Talco; 10 grandchildren, Angela Miller and husband Danny of Sherman, Bart Mauldin of Sherman, Paula Reynolds and husband Vance of Prosper, Laura Bellows and husband Rusty of Sherman, Chris Mullins and wife Kendra of Van Alstyne, Ronnie Gann of Sherman, Carrie Frith and husband Jon of Whitesboro, Jeremy Price of Paris, Brad Mauldin and wife Christie of Sherman, and Lyssa Price of Longview; 19 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Robert Mullins and Haskell Chesser; three sisters; six brothers; one son, William "Bill" Mullins; and two great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Waldo Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association at 1701 North Beauregard, Alexandria, Va. 22311.
