Joseph "Joe" Larkin
27 July 1901 - 6 January 2002


Joe Larkin passed at home in Dallas of natural causes on January 5, 2002 just 6 months shy of his 101st birthday.
He is preceded in death by his son Joe III, and his daughter Maryland (Buddie).
He is survived by his wife Maryland (who followed on January 5, 2004); son Jimmie; daughter Ginger as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grand children.
Joe was one of the founders of The Civil Air Patrol. His pilot's license was a lifetime license and he last flew on his 85th birthday in Denison, Texas. He served in the U.S Army during WWI. He married his wife of 76 years on June 5, 1925. He also got the chance to see Haley's Comet twice in his life time.
He was cremated, his ashes returned to the family who later scattered some at Lake Texoma and placed the rest in Locust Cemetery where his wife joined him two years later.
He will be missed and always loved. May he rest in peace.


Maryland passed at Presbyterian hospital in Dallas of natural causes at the age of 96.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 76 years Joe; her son Joe III; and her daughter Maryland (Buddie).
She is survived by her son Jimmie; daughter Ginger; and many grand-children, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
She worked as a telephone operator and did volunteer work during WWI and WWII. She married Joe on June 5, 1925.
She was cremated and her ashes returned to the family who later placed them next to her husband who passed January 6, 2002. They were together in life for 76 years and they are together again forever.
She will be missed and always loved. May she rest in peace.
