POTTSBORO -- Annie
Fulenchek Clountz, 93-year-old Pottsboro resident, passed away Tuesday,
January 31, 2006, at Texoma Medical Center.
Services
were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, February 2, 2006 at Johnson-Moore
Pottsboro Chapel. Bro. Gregg Knight and Bro. Bob Sholl officiated.
Burial followed at Locust Cemetery. Nephews served as pallbearers.
Mrs. Clountz
was born on April 10, 1912 in Grayson County, Texas, daughter of Joe
Thomas and Ida McAlister Fulenchek. She was educated at the Overton
School in Grayson County. On October 2, 1937 she married Birtie Clountz in
Denison. He preceded her in death on May 10, 1984.
She was a
homemaker and a member of the Pottsboro Church of Christ.
The family
requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorials in Annie's name be made to
the Pottsboro Church of Christ Building Fund, 106 Herberta, Pottsboro,
Texas 75076.
Surviving are
her son, Delbert Clountz and his wife, Ann of Pottsboro; daughter,
Doris Conrad and her husband, Chuck of Galion, Ohio; brother, Calvin
Fulenchek of Pottsboro; sisters, Josie Elmore and Viola Dutton, both of
Pottsboro; grandchildren, June Hendrickson and husband, Curtis of
Pottsboro; Jan Clountz of Denton; Corey Wayne Conrad of Pottsboro; and
Jason Conrad of Galion, Ohio; and great-grandchildren, Megan, Dylan and
Ethan. Funeral for Birtie Clountz, 70, who died yesterday at his home in the
Locust Community, was held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Willow Springs Church of
Christ. Johnny Moore and Ross Hollingsworth officiated.
Burial was in the Locust Community Cemetery under the
direction of Johnson-Moore Funeral Home.
Clountz was born March 13, 1914, in the Locust Community, the son of
Mr. and Mrs. Henry Clountz. He married Annie Fulenchek October
2, 1937, at Denison. He was a retired foreman for Precinct 4
with 21 years service. He was a member of Willow Springs
Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Delbert Cloubtz of Pottsboro; a
daughter, Doris Conrad of Galion, Ohio; a brother William Clountz of
Locut Community; sisters, Gertie Smith and Vessie Steedman of
Pottsboro; four grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Jimmie Elmore, Doyle Roy, Marvin Fulenchek, Dale
Fulenchek, Weldon Montgomery, Don Dutton, and Raymond Fulenchek.
