Larry Michael Bishop, 56, of Pottsboro, Texas, flew to the heavens Thursday, September 11, 2014.
Larry was born July 16, 1958 in Littlefield, Texas and raised in Sudan, Texas as a child. When Larry was 19, his father called him to work at the family business, Mill Creek Marina. Larry continued to work on Lake Texoma for the next 30 years, with 27 years at Mill Creek and 3 years at Grandpappy Point. Most recently he was working on the new resort property for Schuler Development. Larry’s life and livelihood was boats and Lake Texoma, but when Dave Adams taught him how to fly a T-34, Larry’s new love and hobby was flying. He became a pilot and enjoyed flying tail draggers.
Larry’s memory will be cherished by his wife, Jana Bishop of Pottsboro; son Michael L. Bishop of Austin; daughter, Brandi Lee and husband, Craig of Littlefield; stepdaughter, Whitney Farris and husband, Dustin of Sherman; grandchildren, Landon, Jaxon, Hudson and Gemma Lee and Lynley Farris and one grandbaby on the way; sisters, Diana Wood and husband, Roger of Arlington; Lisa Fritz and husband, John of Lubbock; Angela Ellis and husband, Neil of Heath; brother, Michael Bishop of Sherman; stepmother, Barbara Bishop of Pottsboro; Dana West Fenley mother of Brandi and Michael; parents-in-law, Dave and Earline Burleson of Denison; and nieces and nephews, Katrina Egan, Kristina Griffin, Trace and Cole Fritz, Matthew, Joshua and Sarah Ellis. 
He was preceded in death by his mother, Valda Turner Bishop; father, Mike Bishop; grandparents, John and Katy Turner; uncle, Floyd Turner; brother-in-law, Steve Melton; and his biological father, James Calvin Byars.

Funeral Mass was held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 15, 2014 at St. Patrick Catholic Church with Father Stephen Mocio officiating. Interment followed in Locust Cemetery. 
Pallbearers were Ken Blackstock, Gary Staats, Mike Plyer, Raymond Fulenchek, Arne Vasenden and George Schuler.
Arrangements were under the direction of Fisher Funeral Home in Denison.
