Mary Nellave Jones, age 73, went home to be with the Lord Friday, October 16, 2015 at Texoma Medical Center.
Mary Sanders was born November 14, 1941 in Cedar Mills, Texas. She graduated from high school in Dallas in 1959. On April 15, 1961, Mary married the love of her life, Thomas Walter Jones in Paris, Texas. Mrs. Jones dedicated her life to raising her children and grandchildren and being a committed wife. She loved her farm animals and had a special knack
for gardening. She loved her family and friends beyond measure and she will leave a legacy of love that will be remembered in the hearts and memories of all who knew and loved her.

Mrs. Jones is survived by her loving family, two sons, Thomas Rusty Jones and partner, Lori Woodson, Stephen Jones
and partner, Linnae Colson, two daughters, Angie Smith and husband, Joseph, and Belinda Shelby, 19 grandchildren, Justin Jack, Bradlee Jones, Ryan Jones, Haigen Jones, Sydney Jolly, Syran Jolly, Sy Jolly, Kacie Jones, Stephanie Jones, Melissa Colson, Kourtney Colson, Tanner Colson, Jagger Colson, Shellie Jones, Kayla Smith, Kaitlyn Smith, Ethin Smith, Alissa Shelby and Hayli Shelby, one great-grandson, Liam Brittain, brother, Billy Ray Sanders and sister, Frances Jean Sanders.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Walter Jones, and brothers and sisters, Butch, Sharon, Mike and Delmus.




GORDONVILLE - Funeral Services for Tom Jones, 69, will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 21, 2011 at the First Baptist Church in Gordonville with Dr. Rusty Waller officiating. Interment will follow at Liberty Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Meador Funeral Home in Whitesboro. Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 20 , 2011
at the funeral home. He passed away on Friday, Nov. 18, 2011 at his residence. He was born on Feb. 9, 1942 in Hugo, Oklahoma to Thomas Luther Jones and Ollie Virginia (Brown) Jones. He married Mary Sanders on April 15, 1961 in Paris, Texas. He served his country in the 82nd Airborne of the U.S. Army, earning the Purple Heart Award, during the Vietnam Conflict. He also served during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Tom was a member of the Gordonville Masonic Lodge #536 A.F.&A.M. He attended First Baptist Church in Gordonville. His interests were driving the back roads, fish fries, riding horses, family reunions, holiday gatherings, bonfires and hunting. Survivors include his wife, Mary Jones of Gordonville;
2 sons, Thomas Lee "Rusty" Jones of Gordonville and Stephen L. Jones and wife, Bobbie Lea of Gordonville; 2 daughters, Angela Gail Smith and husband, Joseph Leon of Gordonville and Belinda Ann Shelby of Gordonville; 11 grandchildren, Justin R. Jack, Thomas Bradlee Jones, Kacie Dawn Jones, Ryan Kristepher Jones, Kayla Marie Smith, Caitlyn Smith, Stephanie D'ann Jones, Shellie LeAnn Jones, Alissa Gail Shelby, Hayli Nicole Shelby and Ethin Leon Smith; 2 brothers, Harvey Carroll Jones and Floyd Jones; 2 sisters, Betty Jo Pope and Francis Ladean Power. He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers, and 4 sisters. Pallbearers are Stephen L. Jones, Thomas Lee "Rusty" Jones, Danny Martin, Jeremy Shelby, Larry Wainscott and Joseph Smith. Grandchildren and Tommy Self will serve as honorary pallbearers.
