December 17, 1939 pg.7 Gordonville - Mrs. Jack Hughes, 48, died at 3 p.m. Friday at her home in the Liberty community after 3 months illness. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at Liberty cemetery, north of Gordonville. Short and Murray of Denison were in charge. Surviving relatives include her husband; her mother, Mrs. Jane Jarett of Wichita Falls; a son, Thomas Howard Hughes of Liberty; 6 brothers, Ernest Jarett of Roaring Springs, Texas; Floyd Jarett of Trenton; Clarence Jarett of Sherman; Dave Jarett of Oklahoma; E. Hugh Jarett of Washington, D.C.; and Herbert Jarett of Wyoming. Mrs. Hughes was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Jarett and was married to Jack Hughes in 1925.
