MRS. CRESEE LANKFORD
Sunday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. E. Saffrol, this city, Mrs. Cresee Lankford quietly passed over the river that is called death.
Monday evening her remains were buried in the Dr. Jones grave yard 4 miles east of Denison on the road to Carpenter Bluff.  At the time of her death, Mrs. Lankford was in her 72d year, and had been a citizen of Texas more than half a century.  She came to this country with her parents from Tennessee while it was yet a division of Old Mexico, and was one of the oldest if not the oldest Texas citizens living in the Red river country.  The old Lankford homestead is located 3 miles east of the city, but during the past year she has made her home in Denison with her daughter.
