PIONEER MASON DIES NEAR SOUTHMAYD
Sherman, Nov. 28 - Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon for I.N. Bennett, farmer and land owner, who died suddenly at
his home near Southmayd Tuesday night.  Burial was in Kendall's Chapel.

Bennett was one of the pioneers of Grayson County.  He was a Royal Arch Mason and help to organize the first lodge north of Dallas, which was at the old Basin Springs schoolhouse.
He is survived by his wife, one daughter, three sons and 15 grandchildren.  A brother, David Bennett, lives on the family homestead at Wremtham, Mass., which property has been in the family since their forbears landed from the Mayflower.
