Grayson Farmer, H.L. Terry, Buried

Sherman, Texas, Oct 3 - Funeral services were held Monday at his home ten miles northwest of Sherman for Henry L. "Fate" Terry, 80, Grayson County farmer, land owner, and stockman for the last sixty years. Burial was in Kendall Chapel Cemetery.
Terry was a native of Putnam Co, Tenn., he came to Grayson County at the age of seven. He was married to Maggie Donner on Oct 7, 1890 near Sherman. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
Terry is survived by his wife; three sons, Donner and Ralph Terry, both of Dallas, and Lee Terry of Sherman; three daughters, Mrs. Jeff Knight of Royce City, Mrs. C.E. Hilburn of Waco and Miss Verna Terry of Sherman; one sister, Mrs Georgia Brown of Pottsboro; nine grandchildren and five great- grandchildren.

Mrs. H.L. Terry , 88, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Jeff Knight, her Sunday.
Mrs. Terry was born Sep 21, 1870, at Decatur, Ill. She came to Texas with her parents at the age of five, her parents were George T. Donner and Sarah Scott Donner.
Mrs. Terry was a member of the Church of Christ. She married H.L. Terry in 1891 in Grayson County. They lived 10 miles northwest
of Sherman all of their married life, excepting six years in Sherman. He died in 1950.

Mrs. Terry moved to Royce City in 1952. She was a direct descendant of the Donner Party that went to California during the Gold Rush.
Funeral services are pending at the Royce City funeral home. Burial will be in the Kendall Chapel Cemetery near Sherman.
Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. Jeff Knight and Miss Verna Terry, both of Royse City, and Mrs. Chester Hilburn of Waco; three sons, Donner Terry and Ralph Terry, both of Dallas, and Lee Terry of Sherman; nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
