Howe, Texas - Robert Dallas James, 85, died Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at the Beacon Hill Nursing home in Denison, Texas.

Robert served on the USS New Jersey during the Korean War and shared his world adventures with his sons over the years.
Fast cars were a lifelong passion for him and many of his fondest memories revolved around the thrill of acceleration and a strong discipline of self-reliance, regiment and ingenuity.  He loved telling stories of driving Jerry Lewis's Jaguar around Hollywood and Doc Edinger's 1965 AC Cobra down the Vegas strip with champagne on the ready.  He and his wife, Ann, had the rare experience of rubbing shoulders with the Hollywood crowd in the 1960s and shared many of those experiences, frequently with tremendous grins that made you certain that there was even more to the story.
From a son to a brother to a sailor to a husband to a father and grandfather, thank you for the many life lessons.
