Robert Archibald Smith 92, passed away peacefully in Dallas on March 17, 2007, to be with his wife Juanita, who died this past April.  They shared 66 years of marriage.  Robert was adored by his friends and family.  He was a kind, sharp, witty man whose greatest passion was family and church.
His legacy included his son Robert David Smith and wife Donna; his daughter Linda Smith Lehman and husband John; grandchildren Brian Smith and wife Jill; Jeff H. Lehman; Ashley Lehman Cook and husband Raymond Laurence Cook, Jr.; great-grandson Spencer Robert Smith.
He is survived by his sister Virginia Smith Sutton and his brother Raymond D. Smith.
Robert was born in Howe, Texas on February 19, 1915.  He attended Austin College and graduated from Texas Tech University. After receiving his Bachelor of Science, he went on to become a registered Professional Engineer in the state of Texas.  He served as an Elder and Deacon of the First Presbyterian Church in Garland and was a member of the Masonic Lodge.  Robert Smith was a man of quiet pride and uncompromising principle.  May his strength, love and lessons live on through all of those who knew and loved him.
The funeral service was held at the First Presbyterian Church in Garland, Texas on Tuesday, March 20, 2007 at 11:00 a.m.   Internment was at Holloway Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. in Howe, Texas.  Williams Funeral Directors for over 120 Years,1600 South Garland Ave, Garland, Texas.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, Garland, Texas.
