Luella Farmer Dies From Pistol Wound

Sherman, November 10 - S. L. Francis, 45 years of age, died at a local sanitarium at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon as a result of a bullet wound just above the right ear. It is stated that Mr. Francis, who was a farmer living near Luella, accidentally shot himself while inspecting a .44 caliber revolver immediately before killing hogs.
The accident occurred at 7 o'clock Wednesday morning just in the rear of Mr. Francis' home. There were no eye witnesses, but it is known that he took the gun to the rear lot for the purpose of killing hogs and it is supposed that, in some way, the revolver was accidentally discharged. When the shot was heard members of the family supposed that Mr. Francis had shot a hog and did not immediately go to the scene. He was unconscious when found shortly afterwards.
Sherman was phoned and Stewart M. Scott rushed an ambulance to the home and brought Mr. Francis to a local sanitarium where he died a few hours later without regainig consciousness.
He is survived by his wife and three sons.
Burial was Thursday afternoon.
