Harold E. Groner passed away on July 31, 2007, in Dallas, Texas. He was born May 3, 1931 to Oal B. and Inez(Smith) Groner, in Sherman, Texas.
He attended Austin College, Cameron University and Austin Peay University.  On June 10, 1956, he married Mary Katherine Reynolds, in Sherman, Texas.
He was employed by the Federal Civil Service for 37 years. As a civilian, he worked for the US Air Force, NASA and the US Army and the last 25 years of his employment was in the office of personnel management (Civil Service Commission) in Dallas, Texas. He retired in 1992, where he continued to be involved with his wife’s antiques business.
He served as a public member of the District 1A Grievance Committee for the State Bar of Texas and The Boy Scouts of America NETSEO Trails Council Steering Committee.
He was an amateur magician, photographer and “Santa’s Helper” for 40 years.
He was named Citizen of the Year in 1983 by the Old Downtown Carrollton Association.  He received several awards including, outstanding service for work with Myasthenia Gravis Foundation of DFW,and performance award for the United States Office of Personnel Management.  He also was the Chairman for the MG Foundation during 1981-1982.
Funeral Services were held Friday August 3, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Sulphur Springs, Texas, and at 4:00 p.m. at Friendship United Methodist Church in Sherman, Texas.
