Mrs. Mamie Ellen Crosby, 65, died Friday morning at 3:45 a.m. at the home of her daughter, Jewel Blythe, in the White Mound community. Mrs. Crosby had been in ill health for four years, but died suddenly.
Funeral services were held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at the residence of Mrs. Blythe. Interment was in Holloway Cemetery, directed by Talley.
Mrs. Crosby was born February 28, 1877, in Ripley, Mississippi. She had made her home in the White Mound community for 30 years and was a member of the White Mound Methodist Church.
Survivors are her husband; two sons, Henry Crosby of Howe and Hubert Crosby of Gunter; one daughter, Mrs. Blythe; one brother, J.H. Blythe of Howe; two sisters, Mrs. E.L. Enoch of Southmayd and Mrs. Charlie Pound of Adair, Okla.; and 10 grandchildren.


Funeral services were held Tuesday at 3 p.m. at the Holloway Cemetery near Dorchester, for John C. Crosby, 77, who died Sunday at 8:05 p.m. at his home in Dorchester. He was a farmer.  Rev. Hubert Long, pastor of Dorchester Baptist Church  officiatee. Burial was in Holloway Cemetery, directed by Barrett Funeral Home.
Mr. Crosby was a native of New Albany, Mississippi and came to Texas 48 years ago. He was a member of the Methodist Church.
Survivors include two sons, John Henry Crosby of Dorchester and Hubert Crosby of California; a daughter, Mrs. J.G. Blythe of Tom Bean; a sister, Mrs E.C. Hunkepiller of Charleston, Ark.; 14 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
