SHERMAN - Larry Malolepszy, 65, of Sherman died on Thursday, September 26, 2013 at his home in Sherman. Dannel Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. on Monday at Holloway Cemetery.
Larry was born on June 2, 1948 in Chicago, Illinois, to Roman and Lora Marie Malolepszy. He proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1968 to 1970, in the 1st Cavalry Division (Airmobile) in the Republic of Vietnam. Larry was awarded the "Vietnam Combat Certificate", "Army Commendation Medal", as well as a "Freedom Team Salute Commendation" from General George W. Casey Jr., for Meritorious Service.
After his dedicated service in the U.S. Army, Larry became a certified machinist, working at Fisher Controls for more than 15 years, as well as several other machine shops before retiring in 2010.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Roman Malolepszy, Sr. and Lora Marie Christian, and step-father Cecil Christian.
He is survived by his son, Sean Charles; and daughter, Pamela Sue Kurtz; grandchildren, Haley Charles, Austin Charles, Joshua Charles, Taylor Charles, Madison Charles, Sterling Charles, Dillion Charles, Josh Kurtz, Andrew Kurtz, Rebecca Marie Kurtz; brother, Roman Malolepszy Jr. and his wife Brenda; sister, Judy Garner and her husband Richard; niece, Michelle Wells and her husband Doug; nephew, Sean Malolepszy and his wife Kim; great-nieces, Chelsea Horn, Chynna Groves, Madison Malolepszy, and one great-greatniece, Aria Groves. He is also survived by a long-time special and devoted friend Charlene Smith.

Arrangements are under the direction of Dannel Funeral Home.
