Services for J. D. Smith, 79, farmer who died 8 P. M. Thursday at his home north of Savoy, are to be held at 10 A. M. Saturday at the Baptist church with the Rev A. R. Cunningham officiating. Mr. Smith had been ill two years. Mikel-Brown of Bonham will direct interment at the Hebron cemetery. A native of Alabama, Mr. Smith was born Nov 25, 1861, son of Mr. and Mrs. Pryor Smith. He had lived in this community 40 years. He was a Baptist.
Surviving are his wife, to whom he was married 56 years ago;  two sons Will Smith of Sherman and Charlie Smith of Savoy; three daughters: Mrs Pearl Rose of Bells, Mrs Ethel Rose of Savoy and Mrs A. R. Woodruff of Sherman;  33 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Woman with 122 Descendants Dies.
Bells - Mrs Mary E. Smith, 97, of Bells died at 10:40 a. m. Saturday in a Sherman hospital (Grayson Co). She is survived by 122 direct descendants. Funeral services will be held at Earnheart Chapel, Whitewright, conducted by Rev Maurice Martin, Baptist minister of Savoy. Burial will be in Hebron Cemetery.
Mrs. Smith was born May 15, 1866 in Lebanon, Tenn, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. K. McClendon and married J. D. Smith June 18, 1884 in Cumby, Texas. She had lived in Hunt and Fannin counties since her marriage and for the past several years made her home
with a daughter, Mrs M. L. Rose of Bells. She was a member of the Savoy Baptist Church.

Survivors are two sons Will Smith of Phoenix, Arizona, and Charlie Smith of Sherman; three daughters, Mrs M. L. Rose and Mrs H. M. Rose of Bells and Mrs Edith Woodruff of Sherman;  26 grandchildren, 66 great grandchildren and 25 great great grandchildren.
