   Nina Peterson 8 February 1940 - 27 January 2011 Duane S. "Pete" Peterson 14 June 1934 - 7 May 2008 wed 7 May 1960  Pete was a member of Hebron Baptist Church and served in the U.S. Army. he had a long and distinguished career serving the Lord in various capacities, including many years in a public relations role at Dallas Bible College. Services for Nina Nepscha Peterson, 70-year old Savoy resident will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 31 at the Hebron Baptist Church in Bells/Savoy. Mrs. Peterson passed away Thursday, Jan. 27, 2011 in her son's home in Houston, Texas. Officiating will be Rev. Houston Garner of Hebron Baptist Church, Rev. G. Verle peterson of Albuquerque, NM, and Rev. Tim Harkins of Sherman Bible Church. Burial will follow at Hebron Baptist Church Cemetery. Nina was born February 8, 1940 in Andreedka, Ukraine, firstborn daughter to Stepan & Hannah Nepscha. She migrated with her family to a German DP camp in 1945 and to the USA in 1950. Following graduation from high school in Wisconsin she entered into office work in Chicago and married Duane "Pete" Peterson, May 7, 1960, who preceded her in death in 2008. After time spent in Chicago and Memphis, they moved to Dallas, Texas. Here Nina served nearly 30 years at The Lamplighter School, first as caregiver for teachers' young children, then as office manager and "school nurse," retiring with Pete to Savoy, TX in 1998. God's gracious hand relieved her of physical suffering from cancer on January 27, 2011. She is survived by her children Karen Peterson, and husband, Jim McDermott of Great Falls, VA, and Steve Peterson and wife, Andrea of Houston, TX; grandchildren Karl Glastad and wife Christina of Atlanta, GA, Megan Peterson and Lexi Peterson of Houston, TX; and siblings Klawa Nepscha Thresher of Lynchburg, VA, Toly "Tony" Nepscha of Grand Marsh, WI, and John Nepscha of Musekgo, WI, and their extended families.
